A. Vlangas consulting is led by Amber Vlangas, a dynamic and dedicated non-profit professional with 10 years of experience in the field. Her experience includes service in positions such as Executive Director, Special Events/Volunteer Coordinator, Program Director, Development Coordinator/Grant-Writer, and Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Public Relations. Having served in a variety of capacities, she understands the intricacies of the field and is passionate about helping nonprofits formulate and achieve their objectives, goals and overall vision.

Experience/Expertise

Amber has worked a variety of special events, designed and evaluated numerous fundraising appeals, secured over five million dollars in grants and government contracts, evaluated programs, conducted donor/organizational surveys, designed customized volunteer programs, and worked on fundraising projects from multi-million dollar capital campaigns to smaller annual giving programs.  Her organizational and management work has included strategic planning, staff development, board training, transition/change management and other capacity building efforts. Her communications and marketing expertise includes organizational branding, creative writing, press relations, campaign design/management, graphic design, public relations planning, print collateral design and more.

Approach and Vision

Amber’s integrated approach and strategic focus helps non-profit organizations connect the dots between the many factors that impact their ability to accomplish their mission. She works as a partner with organizations in order to provide them with facilitation, assistance and expertise, but also to help them grow, prepare and learn to help themselves. She believes that no one fundraising approach, training program, planning process, grant proposal or marketing effort takes place independent of a larger vision.  Amber utilizes a clear, concise approach to project management that moves things forward while attending to the small details. She sees her job as an opportunity and privilege to assist the non-profit sector to make a difference in the world.

Amber holds a Certificate in Volunteer Administration, an Associates of Science in Web Technology and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Business Administration/Marketing from Florida Institute of Technology. Amber is the recipient of the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for Excellence in Public Relations. She is a member of the Society of Nonprofit Organizations, The Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Alliance for Nonprofit Management.
